Louis Zoellar Bickett is a self-taught, conceptual artist working in political themes. Bickett is a three time recipient of the Kentucky Arts Council Al Smith Individual Artist Fellowship and a former Yaddo Artist Colony resident. Originally from Winchester, Kentucky, Bickett now maintains his archive and operates a studio in Lexington.
Born and raised in central Kentucky, Clifton's family moved from Versailles, KY to Lexington, KY in 1978. After graduating from high school, he attended the University of Kentucky beginning in the Fall of 1991. After a couple of years working on his prerequisites for Physical Education, he switched majors to pursue Fine Art -Sculpture.
